Day 6 - How to make YouTube thumbnails

How to use ChatGPT to help write your title and description. How to create a YouTube thumbnail.

Day 6 - How to make YouTube thumbnails

Uploading YouTube videos.

I've taken the transcript for Descript and pasted it directly into ChatGPT and asked for a title and description.

I did not edit this description or title. I put it directly into the video.

Because, to me, I am not experienced enough to write a good one, and I don't think it is the priority. I want to focus more effort on the actual video and what I am saying and then leverage the tools that I have to make the other processes easier. It's similar to delegating but instead we use powerful tools like AI. This way we have more energy for the things that are most important.

Creating thumbnail

I have this image I edited in lightroom. Obviously it is not the most captivating thumbail, but I do like it because it is calm and not click-bait. I don't know if it will work but I hope my YouTube channel can be more real and at a slower pace.

Another reason is that I simply don't know how to make a good thumbnail yet. It's a thing to learn soon.

Okay, well the image is too big, so I need to compress it.

...2.23MB still too big. Let's try a different image compressing website.

Still not 2MB! AHHHHHH

I took the image compressed on the second website and recompressed it again on the first website and viola, it is edging in at 1.94MB. Fantastic.

Turns out it is not the correct aspect ratio.

I use Canva to create a thumbnail instead

You can see I am not a graphic designer. But I think I will just use the one in the middle.

Or is from poor to rich a more eye-catching title?

I don't think I will use it though. Because, I feel that it is misleading. Yes I am want to be financially successful, but that is not the point of all this.

The main point is to grow into the life I want to live. The main emphasis is crafting the self.

Published!

Pretty basic. Just me talking.

The original video was some 12 minutes long or so. But I cut out a vast majority of it.

Preparing the next YouTube video

I will open up the media player like this and take a screenshot of the section of the video I like to use as my thumbnail.

Originally I was going to go for the one on the left, for a calmer tone. But after placing it here I realize the bolder one on the right is better.

By the way, I added a preset from lightroom to make the image pop a little more.

Here is a side by side comparison. You can see why using lightroom is useful. That extra detail may help.

And lightroom is easy with its presets. I don't know how to edit a photo. I would rather just select a preset. Easier.

And here it is, uploaded. That's two YouTube videos down!

Joining the positive happy community

I posted a Happy Birthday story of my friend and he reposted it and set me a very heart warming message. I really love those positive amazing people. This is the community that I want to be in so badly.

I want to engage with them more and socialize more. I love love love.

Not sure how to proceed next

I don't know what to do right now. How to make viral content. How to grow your name and your brand. It will be a lot of work.

I want to support all those around me

I want to be the person people get inspired by. I want to support them achieve their goals. I want to be that person.

Okay! I love this so much! I can start. But how?

Reddit.

On Medium can write about other people?

I just had an idea.

What if I made my brand all about writing and talking about what other cool things people are doing?

I can reach out to the person, tell them I like what they are doing. That I will write an article or shoot a video about what they are doing. They get credibility and views. And of course they will want to share it with their audience, which will cross over our audiences. Collaborations are everything. Don't go at it alone.

I can share products and things I like too.

I see now.

Going at it alone is a terrible idea.

Day 5 - How to use Midjourney to generate feature images
Slight changes in your prompt can make your image entirely more interesting. Also: editor for YouTube, separate Instagram accounts, leaving college, full-time model, and do what you want.
Day 7 - Riding ATVs at the beach with other models
I must stay consistent and publish everyday, even if I spend the whole day out having fun. I may have also found my business mentor.
