Be comfortable being alone
Use this technique to overcome the fear of others' judgement - and to start living your life how you ought to.
If you no longer had friends or a significant lover, no cellphone, social media, internet, no quick entertainment or the ability to connect with someone, and you were just sitting in a noodle shop on a rainy day looking out the window, how would you feel?
Well, that is the experience I just had.
I purposely did not bring my cellphone - left it at home and came here, to eat breakfast.
I sat down and looked out the window, thinking this:
Break off our dependency and desire for other people
I feel like if we can break off our dependency and desire for other people it would be like a new superpower, we would unlock the next stage of life.
Imagine if everything you did was for your own betterment - rather than putting up face to others.
Much of what we do is for reputation.
The way we dress, act, speak, decide, move, and do - are in some parts all directly related to our fear of what others think of us.
There's a good book about this called: The Courage To Be Disliked By Others
This book teaches how all problems are derived from social problems. It is based on Adlerian psychology.
What if we imagined we were alone in this world and everything else was an unimportant illusion
If we imagine that life is a dream and consequences were non-existent, then we would be more willing to act on our desires.
There would be no societal pressure guiding your decisions.
You could drop to the floor in a supermarket and start working out. You could speak to anyone without shyness. You can go anywhere and do anything. You wouldn't be pushed into a job you don't like but are doing just for status and security. You wouldn't have to study what your parents make you study. You could do art for art sake instead of catering it and changing it to suit the social media audience's preference. You could do things just for the sake of doing them and nothing else.
And in many cases, these actions are what we should be doing, they are in most cases objectively beneficial for us, yet, unfortunately because of our fear of societal judgement, we do not live our lives the way we ought to.
TLDR
Imagine everything is a dream, everyone is a shadow, and you are alone - now do the things you want to do without fear of societal judgement.
